Getting
to Bahia Paraiso Rain Forest Lodge:
Bahia
Paraiso is located on the far western edge of Osa
Peninsula just bordering the Corcovado National Park
to the south. Due to it's remoteness, it is only
possible to the lodge by boat, the arrangements for
which will be made by us. Helicopter charters are also
available upon request.

Getting to Bahia Paraiso is a wonderful and beautiful
adventure in itself. An experienced boat captain will
meet you in Sierpe, the river town to which you will
have driven or arrived by taxi after flying into
Palmar Sur from San Jose or elsewhere. From Sierpe you
will glide along the winding Rio Sierpe, through a
vast maze of mangrove swamps and out into the Pacific
Ocean through the breathtaking mouth of the river.
From here you will be piloted south along the coast to
Bahia Paraiso Rain Forest Lodge. The total boat travel
time is approximately one hour and fifteen minutes.

The launch, designed for both river and ocean travel, is
piloted
by an experienced boat captain and is equipped with life
preservers for each traveler.
Please note that the craft makes a wet landing at San Josecito
Beach, meaning that you should prepare yourselves to get wet
up to at least your knees in mild surf.
